After over 30 years of helping our community through food distribution, our Food Mission Ministry closed its doors at the end of June, 2024. Over the years, this ministry grew from a literal closet in our church to one of the biggest food pantries in Granville county, serving over 300 families a week at its height. However, as the ministry outgrew our church’s ability to sustain it, we felt the need to launch the Food Mission to become its own separate organization apart from our church. We began the formal process of seeking a new location and creating an independent 501(c)(3) for the Food Mission to transition to in the third quarter of 2023. However, after almost a year of seeking and finding no suitable location, and recognizing that the church no longer had the leadership and volunteer base to continue to sustain this ministry, the choice was made to close down the Food Mission at the end of June 2024.
As with other ministries this church has championed over the years, we recognize that there was a season during which God called us to offer this ministry to our community, and in the same way, He has called us to focus our time, energy and resources in new directions moving forward. We love our community, and are excited about the ways God is calling us to minister to the people in Granville, North Carolina, and to the ends of the Earth.
